Carolyn Grimes is a partner at Wade, Grimes, Friedman, Meinken, Leischner, PLLC, where she focuses on collaborative law in divorce, child custody, child support, spousal support, retirement equitable distribution, and prenuptial agreements.

Ms. Grimes is admitted to practice law in all Circuit, Juvenile, and Domestic Relations Courts in Northern Virginia and the has also argued before the Court of Appeals. A frequent lecturer on family law topics ranging from custody disputes to civilian, federal, and military retirement issues, and Foreign Service retirement details.

Ms. Grimes is also a licensed mediator, and her experience and skill in collaborative law allows Ms. Grimes to act as a neutral party to bring alternative dispute resolutions that help couples and families avoid the courtroom.

A proud member of the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, Ms. Grimes is dedicated to her craft and her community on the Board of the Legal Services of Northern Virginia, where she performed countless hours of pro bono work.

Ms. Grimes’s accolades continued while she was named as the Past President of the Alexandria Bar Association, was recognized as a Top Attorney from Washingtonian Magazine, and operated as the co-chair on the Pro Bono and Community Service Committee.

Later serving on the Chair of a scholarship program for youths who have overcome adversity, the Beat the Odds Program, Ms. Grimes also participated in the American Bar Association program offering legal assistance to victims of the September 11, 2001, attacks.
